Playing Cards Stop Motion

This video is based on patterns and sequences, using a classic magic prop. Trying to keep the cards in the same position whilst turning them over and replacing them was important to keep the illusion working, using a tripod helped keep the camera steady and keep the shots lined up. Ideally I would have liked to have been able to use better lighting, however, I took the photographs in the evening so used a mirror to scatter the light more evenly, reducing shadows, although the photographs were still darker than I would have liked. At one point in the movie, the cards all turn to one colour, however, there are 30 cards in the shot and there are only 26 of each colour in a single deck so I needed to use additional cards from another deck.
